Long ago, the person who built In-daw Lake was Hku Nawng Zau Ra. The dragon boy from In-daw Lake and the Jinghpaw boy, Hku Nawng Zau Ra, were schoolmates. This happened during the animist era. They went to the same school. When the dragon boy went back home, his friend Hku Nawng Zau Ra visited his home. The dragon boy said, "My friend, don't peek into that room." But Zau Ra peeked into that room and saw two scary grandparents. The dragon boy said, "My friend, I told you not to look into that room. I think you did. My grandparents don't feel well now." The dragon boy said like that. Hku Nawng Zau Ra said, "I didn't do it intentionally. I was just feeling itchy on my back, so I turned around. Then I accidentally saw them." He lied to his friend. The dragon boy said, "Fine. I won't take it seriously." Then they spent their days as usual, going to school. Later, the dragon boy told his father that he wanted to build a village. But his father didn't agree. The father said, "If you are going to build a village, I will just sleep and not get up." However, the boy built a new village even though his father didn't agree with him. He spread the dragon eggs around In-daw Lake. The villagers found the eggs and ate them. After that, the whole village became submerged in water. An orphan boy and his grandmother were running away from the flood. But they couldn't escape. Therefore, the grandmother put her walking stick upside down. And that is how In-daw Lake was formed. And there are bamboo trees growing upside down there. The temple was built by Hku Nawng Zau Ra. He said to his dragon friend, "My friend, you have built a village. Let me build a pagoda here." The dragon boy said, "Okay, you can." Some Jinghpaw people claim that the pagoda at In-daw Lake was built by the Jinghpaw boy, Hku Nawng Zau Ra. During a pagoda festival at In-daw Lake (I am not sure what it is called), Hku Nawng Zau Ra was not informed, and then thunder struck there. I think Hku Nawng Zau Ra has already become a nat spirit. This happened a very long time ago. Whenever there is a festival at In-daw Pagoda, the Hku Nawng clan is required to be there and participate. If they are not there, the festival cannot be celebrated. It always goes wrong. The pagoda in the middle of In-daw Lake was built by the Jinghpaw people, not by the Burmese. That is what some people claim.
