Shan lahkawng gaw lam dam mat ai da. Lam dam ai shaloi, langai mi wa gaw, ndai Zai sawng pa kaw rai na hku rai nga. Dai lam dam mat ai she, langai mi gaw "Ndai n'ga rai nga law." Langai mi gaw, ndai n'ga rai mat. "An lahkawng du mayu ai mare gaw ndai maga she rai na re." ngu tsun ai da. Langai mi gaw, "Ndai maga she rai na re." ngu na she, Raitim manang langai wa na shawng ga shawng madat na she shanhte gaw dai lam hku bai hkawm mat wa ai da. Dai she n du ai da. Dai she, kalang bai kayin wa na she, manang wa langai bai tsun,"Ndai maga hku rai na re law, an lahkawng du mayu ai shara gaw." ngu na she dai maga hku bai rai mat wa ai she n du ai da. Manang dai hpe htwi da kau ai shaloi she, "Umm.. nang gaw grai tsawra ai manang hpe htwi ai. Nang htwi ai majaw ngai ndai Zai sawng pa e, nang, daini ngai hpe htwi ai ndai shara kaw." ngu na she shi gaw da, dai Zai sawng pa kaw wa she matsing da kau ai da. "Nang, ngai hpe htwi ai majaw, " ngu na she, dai Zai sawng pa kaw matsin kau da na she, bai hkawm sai da. Shan lahkawng bai hkawm mat wa ai she, lung rawk kaba da luu..dai oh bum oh ra maga lai mat wa yang gaw, dai lung rawk dai lu lai mat wa yang oh ra maga gaw mare rai na hku rai nga shaloi she, kwi shan lahkawng lung she lung yak da lu, lung she lung yak, grai yak, manang wa langai mi hkrit she hkrit da lu. Mi na htwi da, kadu ai wa mung hkrit she hkrit, ndai wa gaw grai atsam rawng ai hku nga shi gaw, Kwi, "Ngai hpe sha noi u yaw." ngu tsun ai da. "Umm." ngu tsun na she, kwi shi noi na she rai mat wa ai da. "Ngai hpe jum u re lu." ngu yang she, "E, jum nga ai." ngu jum yang she, hpang e gaw grai tsaw ai shara kaw du yang she ndai manang wa hkrit hkrit wa ai da. Hkrit wa she tat kau dat ai she, galau mat wa maw ai shaloi she, ndai mi na htwi da ai la dai wa she, oh ra htwi da hkrum ai la hpe bai dun la da. Dun la rai she, "E, nang daini ngai hpe hkye la ai. Nang gaw nye na chyeju madu re. Nang hpe gaw ngai, ndai lung rawk kaw nang daini ngai hpe hkye la ai gaw hkying kade kade kaw re." ngu na she dai lung rawk kaw bai ka matsing ai da. Dai majaw, tsun ai da, "Nang, mi gaw Zai sawng pa kaw ka matsing ai. Ya gaw hpa na ndai lung rawk kaw ka matsing ai rai?" da. "Zai sawng pa kaw gaw marang htu yang hka kaba yang gaw mat mat ai. Ndai lung rawk kaw gaw matsing da yang, i, hpa nbung mi bung, marang mi htu tim, tim, n mat ai da. Dai majaw ndai kaw matsing ai re." ngu tsun ai da. Collection title Kachin folktales told in Jinghpaw
Description Recordings of Kachin folktales and related narratives in Jinghpaw. These materials were collected by Keita Kurabe, Gumtung Lu Awng, Sumdu Ja Seng Roi, Hpauhkum Htu Bu, Labang Tu La, Gumtung Htu Nan, and Lashi Seng Nan as part of community-based collaborative fieldwork in northern Myanmar. A total of 2,491 stories with 2,481 ELAN files, 2,481 transcriptions, and 1,437 translations are currently available (November 23, 2024). Transcriptions were contributed by Gumtung Lu Awng, Pausa La Ring, Galang Lu Hkawng, Sumdu Ja Seng Roi, Hpauhkum Htu Bu, and Keita Kurabe. Stories were translated by Nbanpa Rita Seng Mai, Sumlut Gun Mai, Lazing Htoi San, Maran Seng Pan, Dumdaw Mike Tu Awng, Nhkum Htoi Awng, and Keita Kurabe.
