Title N hkru n kaja ai la sha (The mortar's wife) with English translation
Description Translation (Rita Seng Mai)
Once upon a time, there were a couple who didn't have any children. One day, the wife was seriously ill. Soon, she passed away. Then, her husband wrapped her up with a mat and carried the dead body to bury. There was a wooden mortar and pestle in front of their house. There, the dead body hooked with the pestle and fell out of the mat. But the husband didn't know that. He carried only mat and buried it. After that, he went back home. At home, he saw the dead body again. So, he was surprised. He thought, "Oh! My mortar's wife is dead too." He thought the dead body was the wife of the mortar. He felt sad for it too.
