Title Myit Galu Ai Na Htu Brang | The Patient Young Farmer
Description Translation (Nbanpa Rita Seng Mai & Keita Kurabe)
This is the story of “The Patient Young Farmer.” Long ago, in a certain village, there lived a young farmer. He made a living by working in the rice fields. One day, he had been working in the fields until the sun had fully risen, and he became tired. So he sat down to rest on the edge of the terraced fields. As he was sitting and resting, he saw two jungle fowl nearby, fiercely pecking at each other. When he saw that, the young farmer thought, “Hmmm, if I could bring each of those jungle fowl home,” “my family could enjoy some delicious chicken meat.” “But if I try to catch them now,” “they’ll both run away,” and decided to wait a little. Even after waiting a while, the two jungle fowls were still pecking at each other fiercely. So the young farmer decided to wait patiently. No matter how long he waited, the fowls' fight never ended, so he went back to working in the fields. After a very long time had passed, he returned to check on the fowls, and found them lying on the ground, completely exhausted. The young farmer was able to catch both jungle fowl easily. Because the young farmer had waited patiently, he was able to catch not just one, two jungle fowls.
