Title Gwi hte nyau (Dog and cat) with English translation
Description Translation (Seng Pan)
The story I am going to tell you now is about a dog and a cat. A long time ago, a dog and a cat were lodged in a house. They slept near a fire place. And the hosts slept in the room. At around 10 o'clock, the dog started barking. Then the cat said, "My friend, please don't bark! We can't sleep." The dog also stopped barking. After a while, the dog barked again. "You should stay at outside," the cat said. The host also threw him out and let him stay at outside. As the dog felt so cold, he begged to let him come inside. When the cat heard him, he felt so sorry for the dog and asked the hosts to let him come inside the house. "Dog, don't make a noise anymore!" the cat commanded. "Ok! I won't," the dog replied. And they went to sleep again. However, the dog barked again at around 12 o'clock. Since the dog didn't keep his promise, the cat threw him out again. And the dog cried from outside to let him in. "Please let me in! I won't bark again. I regret," the dog yelled. Again, the cat begged the hosts to let him in since he couldn't stand for the dog's cry. And they let him in for the last time. However, after 1 and 2 o'clock, the dog made a noise again. It was so noisy. So, the hosts threw the stupid dog out. Although he cried the whole night, they didn't let him come inside anymore. Therefore, the dogs have to sleep outside and the cats can sleep inside the house till today.
