The story I'm going to tell is about a flautist. Once upon a time, a country had suffered from a rat infestation. There were lots of big rats in the country. People couldn't farm or work. All of their farms were being destroyed by rats. There were rats everywhere, on the beds and in the kitchens. The king thought of an idea of how to kill all rats in this country completely. People killed them as they could. But the rats kept growing and growing. They always discussed how to kill all rats. One day, a stranger appeared. He was totally different from the other citizens and wore colourful clothes too. And he had a flute. He claimed, "I can kill all the rats which are the most annoying and dangerous enemies of you. Just give me two coins of gold." The king was happy and promised to give him five coins of gold. Then, he started to play the flute. A strange melody came out. All the rats in the country started to scurry towards him. He walked slowly, and rats followed behind him. He led them to the river. He stood on the bank and kept playing the flute. The rats were going into the river and were drowned. Citizens were happy to see that thing. As the king promised to give him five gold coins, he returned to the palace and asked for those. But the king reneged on his promise and refused to give him those coins. The stranger vowed to take revenge. The king said, "I can't give you! Do whatever you want." The stranger got angry and said, "Okay. I will take revenge." Then, he started to blow his flute with another melody. It was a different melody when he led the rats to the river. When the children heard that melody, children from every house came out and followed him. Even the parents couldn't stop them from following the stranger. He led them to the river. The parents worried about their children and thought, "He might kill our children by letting them drowned in the river." But the stranger led them to the hidden place behind a mountain. There was a huge cave with a rock door behind the mountain. Every child went into the cave. The flautist went into the cave as well. Then, the door closed by itself. At first, the children's parents were relieved because they thought, "Thank god that he didn't lead them into the river. It is better they go into the cave than into the water. They will come out soon." But the children and the flautist were never seen again.
