Title Shabu num majan (Beautiful girl) with English translation
Description Translation (Rita Seng Mai)
The title of this story is 'a beautiful girl'. Once upon a time, there was a gorgeous princess in a country. She is the most beautiful girl in that country. Her family didn't let her do any housework. They adored her too much. In the past, girls learned how to weave. But the beautiful girl didn't learn it. Then, she grew up like that. She didn't know how to weave or work. But the boys in their country liked her because of her appearance. Every boy wanted to marry her, but they didn't have any money to give as a bridewealth. They thought they should work to earn some money. So, seven boys travelled to another village to find some money. On their way, they stopped at one place because they were tired and starving. So, they stopped there to eat. When they unwrapped their wrap of rice and meal, all of their meals were the same. So, they were surprised. They asked each other who packed the rice and meal for them. They said, "It's her who gave me this." Then they learned that the beautiful girl was in love with all of them. They got angry at her. They discussed, "She is such a flirty girl. She is seeing all of us. We should teach her some lessons." They decided to sell her to a rich man. They went back to their village and went to her. And they called her, "Let's go to the market." They had already made an appointment with the rich man. They lied to him, "She is a gorgeous lady who is innocent and works really hard. If you marry her, you two will be a perfect couple." When the wealthy saw her, she was indeed gorgeous. But the girl accidentally found out that they were going to sell her. So, she secretly went to the rich man and said, "They told you that they would sell me, right? Actually, I brought them here because I want to sell them to you. There are many servants and workers at my house. So, we decided to sell some of them." Then, the rich man told her, "If you marry me, I will buy them." The girl didn't want to marry him, but she thought of getting money from him. So, she lied to him and said she would marry him. She told him, "Okay. We can live our lives happily with these seven servants. But now, I would like to give the money to my parents. Next week, you come to my house with these seven servants to ask my parents' permission." He believed her and gave the price for seven servants. He also gave her some money as bridewealth. After that, she secretly got out of there. Meanwhile, seven boys waiting outside were thinking, "Why are the rich man and the girl taking too long? He should come out now." At that time, the wealthy man also thought to send those seven boys to his servant barracks. When he came out, seven boys asked him, "Give us the price for the girl we sell to you." Then, the rich man told them, "You are mistaken. She sold all of you to me. You will be my servants start from today." The boys were furious and told him everything about her. And they ran away from there. On the other hand, the girl was afraid that the boys would chase her. So, she ran as fast as she could. Then, she decided to climb atop a tall tree at a place on her way. The boys were chasing her and decided to rest at the place where the girl was hiding. Since it was getting dark, they divided different tasks to do and prepared to take a rest that night. Then, one boy had to guard that place while the others were doing their tasks. He was left alone there. At that time, the girl who was sitting at the top of the tree called him and told him to climb up. And she gave him some tobaccos. In the past, adults used tobacco too. She seduced him to love her. Because of the drug, the boy fell for her. They hugged and kissed each other. At that time, she bit his tongue and cut it off. He was hurt and fell from the tree. His friends under the tree were frightened when he fell. So, they ran away quickly. Later, they remembered it might be their friend. So, they went back there and checked him. But he couldn't speak at all. There was blood all over his mouth too. Then, the other boys were scared and left him alone there. After a few minutes, the girl climbed down from the tree and took him to a cave. She felt guilty, so she took him with her. They started a family there. They had many children. But all of their children were mute too.
