Title Chyahkawn hte sagu a lam (The wolf and the sheep) with English translation
Description Translation (Mike Tu Awng)
Long time ago, there were a wolf and a sheep. One day, those wolf and sheep went to a river to drink water. When they got to the river, the sheep was drinking at down stream part of the river. The wolf wanted to eat the sheep. The wolf said to itself, "How can I eat this sheep?" Then, the wolf saw that the sheep was drinking the water alone quietly. The wolf came to the sheep and said, "Why are you drinking alone there? You are playing with the water and that's why I can't drink it up stream here. The water is polluted and dirty. I came here because I was very thirsty." said the wolf. When the wolf said that, the sheep replied by saying, "How can it be possible because I am drinking down stream and you are drinking up stream? It is the other way around. If you make water dirty, I will get dirty water. How can water I touch can go up stream?" Then, the wolf said, "Don't tell me anything." The wolf continued, "Even if you don't make the water dirty, it was your father. Last month, I was drinking down stream at where you are right now and your father was drinking up stream where I am now. I was very hungry and I couldn't even drink water." The sheep said, "By that time, even my father was not born yet." But the wolf replied, "Don't tell me whether or not your father was born. I am going to eat you." And, the wolf ate the sheep. The wolf was just making things up to eat that sheep.
