Title Lagat a lam (The bee) with English translation
Description Translation (Rita Seng Mai)
The story I am going to tell is about the bee. A bee had 5 eyes. It had 5,000 noses. And it could fly for 10 miles. The length of its life was only 6 months. A bee made honey which was one of the most beneficial ingredients for human. Honey had been used in medicine and skincare products which we applied on our faces, legs or hands. Even though its life was only 6 months, it was very useful for human. People can live for 80, 90 or 100 years and live longer than a bee should react and behave like a bee. We have to emulate the bee. We need to be the one who is helpful and meaningful. We need to produce knowledge for people from all around the world. This is our task. Even the bees which live only 6 months produce useful honey for all people. So, we have to behave like a bee.

Ya ngai tsun na gaw lagat a lam re. Lagat gaw myi 5 tu ai. Shi gaw ladi gaw hkying 5 tu ai. Re na lagat gaw deng 10 pyen lu ai. Shi gaw shi na asak gaw shata 6 sha re. Retim mung shi gaw shi a asak shata 6 sha retim mung mungkan ting shinggyin masha ni jai lang ai tsi mawan kaw da myi man hkan chya ai kaw da, lagaw hkan lata hkan, shara shagu chya ai gaw, shi shata 6 sha asak hkrung ai lagat wa galaw da ai re, dai majaw dai ni anhte shinggyin masha ni asak 100 ning jan 80, 90 nga ai ni ndai lagat a ka si hpe yu la na anhte asak hkrung sa ga, kasi yu la ga. Lachyum pru ai shinggyin masha 1 mi, lachyum pru ai hpaji galaw shapraw ra ai, mungkan ting jai lang na matu, anhte shinggyin masha ni a lit re. Lagat shata 6 sha re wa pyi asak shata 6 sha nga ai wa pyi naw gaw dai ram mungkan ting jai lang ai manu dan ai lagat ntsin hpe galaw shapraw da ai re ngu na dai hte mi tsun shana ai re.

Collection title Kachin folktales told in Jinghpaw
Description Recordings of Kachin folktales and related narratives in Jinghpaw. These materials were collected by Keita Kurabe, Gumtung Lu Awng, Sumdu Ja Seng Roi, Hpauhkum Htu Bu, Labang Tu La, Gumtung Htu Nan, and Lashi Seng Nan as part of community-based collaborative fieldwork in northern Myanmar. A total of 2,491 stories with 2,481 ELAN files, 2,481 transcriptions, and 1,369 translations are currently available (March 25, 2024). Transcriptions were contributed by Gumtung Lu Awng, Pausa La Ring, Galang Lu Hkawng, Sumdu Ja Seng Roi, Hpauhkum Htu Bu, and Keita Kurabe. Stories were translated by Nbanpa Rita Seng Mai, Sumlut Gun Mai, Lazing Htoi San, Maran Seng Pan, Dumdaw Mike Tu Awng, Nhkum Htoi Awng, and Keita Kurabe.
