Title U nhpye da ai lam (The weaver bird) with English translation
Description Translation (Sarama Lazing Htoi San)
The title is "The weaver bird." Once upon a time, there was an old lady who lived for bag weaving. All the bags she made were so ugly. Even though her bags were not pretty, she was still making them. She also put a trap for birds. One day a clever bird fell in a trap. Her first plan was to cook and eat that bird. The bird knew about that and requested, "Please don't eat me. I will do whatever that you want." That old lady was so poor and she could not make money from selling bags as no one wanted her bags to buy. So the bird told her, "I will weave for you." It also asked one promise to keep. "While I am weaving, you cannot peep." The old lady promised, "E, I won't come and see you. I promise." "While I am weaving, you cannot peep." The old lady promised, "E, I won't come and see you. I promise." The bird weaved during the daytime, and all its weavings were so lovely and attractive. People bought those beautiful bags woven by the bird. Those bags were so gorgeous that many people bought them, and the old lady became very rich. That old lady wanted to know so much about how the bird was weaving those nice-looking bags, and we became rich. She peeped curiously from the hole while the bird was making. The bird caught the peeping and saiid, "Why don't you keep the promise?" The lady answered, "I just seriously wanted to know how you are doing." The bird was so angry that the lady broke her promise so that it flew away very far away from that old lady.
