Title Nang Bya Hkindu Gun Ai Lam (Nang Bya Who Carried Cogongrass) with English translation and notes
Description Translation (Gun Mai)
There was Nangbya who was very lying. He used to lie a lot to his friend. "Let's go, friend. Let's carry my roof grass today," said Nangbya. So, they carried the bundle of the roof grass. If it is ga working type (helping each other in a community for free), We Jinghpaw people used to start work when it is time to start. Nangbya went very early and hid inside the bundle of the roof grass. Then, his friend thought that he was asked for help so he started to carry. When Nangbya's friend was about to get home, Nangbya said that "Friend, drop slowly the bundle of the roof grass because I am inside it." So, his friend got very angry because Nangbya lied to him. "Nangbya, you will see," Nangbya's friend said and thought of an idea. So, Nangbya friend said to Nangbya that "Let's carry my roof grass today." And, as Nangbya did, Nangbya's friend hid inside the bundle of the roof grass. But, Nangbya ground a spear and was throwing around the bundle of the roof grass and said that "Let me try to throw into this bundle of the roof grass," and pointed to the bundle that his friend was hiding. At that time, his friend said that "No, don't do it. I am inside the bundle," and came out. So, Nangbya did not need to carry his friend. He used to lie to others so.
