Title Aten kadun hpe manu shadan ra ai lam (Regretting love) with English translation
Description Translation (Htoi San)
The title is 'Value the time.' A long time ago, a boy lived with a family in a big city. His family was not wealthy even though they lived in a massive urban area. The boy worked hard on his studies, although he was not rich. One day, as he was also grown up, he fell for a girl. He did not dare to open his love to the girl, but he could not hold his love, and he had a chance to propose to her one day. So he told that girl, "I love you so much." When the girl heard this, she made fun of him. "Like you, you are such a poor guy. You don't even earn money which I spend a day on." She mocked and rejected him. The poor boy felt so sorrowful for her reply on that day. From that day onwards, the boy worked very hard. He put effort into his work day and night. After he had hammered away for five, or ten years, he met with that girl in a large market in their big city. That girl asked him, "Are you the boy who expressed love to me long ago, aren't you?" The boy just kept silent and did not reply to her. "Did you find someone? Are you alright now? How have you been? I got married, and I have a husband. My husband can earn about thirty dollars." The girl kept saying to the boy. The boy did not say anything and just stayed quiet. At that time, the girl's husband came to her and said, "Hey, my wife, this is my boss." When the girl heard her husband say, "My boss is so prosperous," she was amazed. "When he was young, there was a girl he was fond of so much, but the girl said she did not love him." "That's why he did not get married and stayed single until now." Her husband explained to her. The girl regretted it and thought, "Oh dear, how great it would be if I accepted him before."
