Moi shawng e da, Woi wa namsi hpun, shi hpun kaw dung nga na namsi di sha taw shaloi Hkangse gaw sa wa na, Hkangse shat, nga rim tim, asak kaba wa na nga rim tim n lu sha nna dai Hkangse gaw, Woi kaw n mu na shat wa hpyi, namsi wa hpyi sha ai da. "E hkau Hkangse, ngai hpe namsi chyi mi jaw sha u le." ngu yang, "Mai ai le." ngu na di jaw dat ai da. Di jaw dat ai dai shaloi dai Hkangse gaw, jaw dat re shaloi grai mu na dai shi madu jan hpe, "E hkau Woi, nye madu jan hpe mung namsi kachyi mi raitim di wa ya na. Mai ai i?" ngu san dat ai shaloi, shi gaw, "Mai ai le." ngu na shi madu jan hpe di wa, di jaw dat sai. Shi madu jan hpe la wa ya re shi madu jan gaw, Dai dingla gaw shi madu jan hpe jaw sha dat re shaloi, "Ndai namsi gaw kanang na ma?" ngu yang, "Aw.. nye manang Woi di jaw dat ai re." ngu na tsun dat ai da. Shi gaw, "Ndai namsi pi grai mu ai maw, dai Woi na salum mung grai mu na re i?" ngu na shi gaw, dai Hkangse gaw grai myit n pyaw ai da. Shi madu jan bai tsun ai gaw, bai myit pyaw re shaloi, ning ngu tsun rai, "Dai Woi na masin hpe ngai hpe di jaw, ngai hpe lu sha hkra di ya u. Dai n rai yang ngai, nang ngai hpe dai hpe n lu sha hkra di yu shangun yang ngai n'htu hte gadoi si mat na." ngu tsun re rai yang, dai Hkangse gaw myit grai n pyaw na dai Woi kaw sa wa rai, dai Woi hpe dai Hkangse bai tsun re shaloi, "Nang," Woi gaw, "nang re Hkangse gaw, manang n jet ai Hkangse." ngu na gau dat ai.

Collection title Kachin folktales told in Jinghpaw
Description Recordings of Kachin folktales and related narratives in Jinghpaw. These materials were collected by Keita Kurabe, Gumtung Lu Awng, Sumdu Ja Seng Roi, Hpauhkum Htu Bu, Labang Tu La, Gumtung Htu Nan, and Lashi Seng Nan as part of community-based collaborative fieldwork in northern Myanmar. A total of 2,491 stories with 2,481 ELAN files, 2,481 transcriptions, and 1,437 translations are currently available (November 23, 2024). Transcriptions were contributed by Gumtung Lu Awng, Pausa La Ring, Galang Lu Hkawng, Sumdu Ja Seng Roi, Hpauhkum Htu Bu, and Keita Kurabe. Stories were translated by Nbanpa Rita Seng Mai, Sumlut Gun Mai, Lazing Htoi San, Maran Seng Pan, Dumdaw Mike Tu Awng, Nhkum Htoi Awng, and Keita Kurabe.
