Title Kanu hte kasha (Mother and son) with English translation
Description Translation (Seng Pan)
This is about a mother and her son. Once upon a time, there was a woman and her son. The son could not do well in school. Therefore, the woman put her son to work with a farmer one day. The father gave him a butter snack. Since the son lacked in knowledge, he didn't know how to take it and put it in his pocket. When he arrived home, his mother asked, "What have you got today, son?" "I've brought a butter snack, but it's melting in my pocket," he answered. "Dear, you should not take the butter snack like this. You should carry it after wrapping it with a leave," the mother said. The next day, he was given a kitten. Then, he bathed the kitten and wrapped it with a leave. As the kitten didn't like him, it scratched his face. The son returned home. When he got home, his mother asked, "Son. What have you brought today?" "I got a kitten. When I tried to wrap it to take back home, it scratched my face. That's why I left him on the road," the son answered. The following day, he was given some money. No, it's not this part yet. "My son. The kitten is not the thing you can wrap. You should carry it in your arms," the mother said. She was amazed at what her son did. The following day, the son was given some money. He held it in his hand and ran back home. Before he reached home, he stumbled over a log and fell. He also lost all his money in his hand there. "Dear. What have you got today?" the mother asked. "The farmer gave me some money. But I have lost it," the son replied. "You shouldn't take the money like that. Next time, put it in a bag and bring it back home," the mother said. After that, the son received a calf. He put it in a bag and carried it home. Fortunately, the kind saw him and assumed him as a hardworking boy. So, the king wished to marry him with his daughter. At last, the son could marry the king's daughter. This is the end.
