Title Nyau hte yu (The cat that got cow milk) with English translation
Description Translation (Htoi San)
I am telling a story about a rat and a cat. A long time ago, a cat and a rat lived in the same house, and the rat had a rugged mind. So the rat hollowed out and ate rice and paddy from the people of that house. The owner was so upset about this, so he kept a kitten since it was young. The kitten was growing older, and it caught and ate that rat. After that, the cat caught and ate a lot of rats. The owners were delighted with keeping that cat, and they were so thankful for that. The mother cow knew about it too. The mother cow said to the cat, "I am also very grateful for you, but I don't have anything to pay you back. I can only give you my milk every day." "Drink my milk every day. This is the only way to return my gratitude," then the cow let the cat drink milk daily. The cat got to know the delicious taste of the milk. Therefore, the cat did not catch the rats and drank only cow milk. One day, the cat met with the cow again. The cow passed the milk to the cat and asked him to bring it home. So the cat got the milk and put it at home. The rat saw the milk and spilled it all, so the hosts were very distressed. They were so unhappy and said, "This rat is too much trouble day by day. This rat. This cat." Then they did not like the cat. Therefore the owner chased the cat out of the house. As the cat was so lazy that he did not want to catch the rat, his host expelled him. Cats can stay and wander around wherever they are.
