The chickens heard about the Manau, so they went there to participate in it. They prepared everything ahead of time. There was a group of ducks in a lake outside the village. A group of ducks were looking at the chickens from their lake. The ducks asked them, "Where are you going?" They said, "We are going to participate in the Ju Manau. Won't you go there?" The ducks said, "Of course, we want to. But we can't walk fast like you. Maybe we won't be able to go there. If you take us there, we will follow you." Then the chickens said, "We are afraid that we can't take you there. You guys are too slow." The ducks insisted on following them and said, "Don't worry. We will quickly follow you. You don't need to wait for us." They followed the chickens, but they left behind because they were slow. They said, "Please wait for us." The chickens said, "If we wait for you, we won't get to the Ju Manau on time. You are so slow. We can't wait for you." Then they quickly went there by themselves. The ducks didn't say anything and just followed them quietly and slowly. They had to cross a big lake on the way. The ducks could cross the lake without any difficulties. Some ducks were still waiting for their turn to cross the lake. The chickens arrived at the lake first. They couldn't cross the lake and were just waiting there.
