Title Hpu Lum Htu a lam (The spirit Hpu Lum Htu) with English translation
Description Translation (Htoi San)
I am telling a story about Hpu Lum Htu and a human. A long time ago, Hpu Lum Htu saw a house. Then she entered the house. She thought that place had no humans, so she went into it. Hpu Lum Htu lay in the house as she was so tired. A person came into the house and tied her hair on a tree stump. Hpu Lum Htu was in a deep sleep, so the person ran away because he was scared. When she woke up, she found her hair was tied on the tree stump. Although she tried to take it like this and like that, she could not get her hair. So she strengthened her hands and took like this and like that, and finally, she could untie her hair. Then she looked for a person who did that to her. In ancient times, a banana tree stump could talk to humans. So he informed the banana stumps, "When someone asks, "Does anyone pass by you?" Please answer, "No one passes." " He requested the banana tree stumps one by one and reached a junction where people were sleeping. He went into them with his cold feet while other feet were warm, and then he slept among them. Hpu Lum Htu asked the tree stumps individually, "Did anyone pass by you?" They answered, "No one passed. No one passed." The man forgot to inform a baby stump not to tell as it was so small. Thus the baby stump answered, "Yes, he passed. He went into that house." Hpu Lum Htu searched for the person where many people were sleeping. The man slept among them, and Hpu Lum Htu touched all their feet, "Cold, cold, warm, warm." As his feet were so cold, Hpu Lum Htu dragged and ate him.
