This is a story about rat. It tells you that you shouldn't be regardless. Once upon a time, there were many rats in a house. So, the family tried to find ways to get rid of them. One day, all the family members set a meeting and discussed about it. Then they decided to buy rattraps to catch the rat king. They bought many rattraps and placed them at every corner of their house. Then a sow said, "Rat king, be careful! The family is planning to trap you." "You too!" the rat king replied. "I'm Ok. I don't steal the food from inside the house. So, I don't need to care," the sow answered. However, the rat king reminded him again to be careful. The next day, a rooster said, "Rat king, the family will trap and kill you tonight. So, be careful!" The rat king also warned him to be mindful. Then the rooster replied, "I don't need be warned. I never go into the house. You don't need to worry about me." After that, he went back. The next day, an ox came to the rat king and said, "Rat King, the family members are going to catch you with rattraps. Be careful!" The rat king replied the same as he warned to the previous animals. But, the ox said, "No need to worry! I don't go and eat inside the house. So, I'm alright." One day, the family placed the rattraps in the house. At night, a noise came out. Unexpectedly, there was no light on that night. The mother heard it and woke the father up. Since they didn't have electric light, he just directly ran to where they put the rattraps in the dark. And he stepped on a trap. But the one which was caught in the trap was not the rat king. It was a snake and its tail was trapped. The father thought it was the rat and held it. Then the snake bit him. In Jinghpaw tradition, we have to kill a rooster in order to remove the snake venom. We used its blood to suck. So, the rooster who didn't worry about himself was killed. Even after sucking the rooster's blood, the father didn't get well. The rooster was put to death and the father also passed away the next morning. As the father was dead, they had to do offerings. Therefore, the sow was killed again for the offering. After that, they had to hold a worship. Since they had nothing left, they killed the ox to serve the guests. That's why you shouldn't be regardless. This is very important.
