Title Jet ai kanam (The real daughter-in-law) with English translation
Description Translation (Htoi San)
The title is 'The real daughter-in-law.' A long time ago, a family lived in a large town. In that family, their boy was so mature and obedient. He was also prosperous. He had a girl who he loved, and she was not rich. Even though the boy's parents did not want their son to marry her, their son loved her so much that they let them marry. The parents let them stay together with the family. The mother-in-law made her daughter-in-law difficult in many ways. "You do this. You do that." Her Mother-in-law ordered her to do things nonstop. She could not rest and did what her mother-in-law asked her to do, not only for one day. But also, for one year, her mother-in-law did not stop commanding her, so she wanted to be angry. She took pity on her husband even though she was angry. She did not like her husband's parents and felt annoyed while staying with them. So she thought, "What should I do?" One day she went to the market. Then she got an idea and went to a drug store. When she went into the pharmacy, she asked. She asked the drug store owner, "I want to kill a person but not on the spot." "I want medicine for that person to die slowly. Give me that kind of medicine," requested the girl. The storekeeper replied to her, "Okay, I can. I can." He went into a room to take medicine and passed them to her. Then the shop owner informed her, "I want to tell you something. When you give this medicine to the person you want to give it to and die, you talk to her nicely. You do with your true heart whatever she tells you." "If you do this, she will die without knowing that you killed her." The girl was satisfied, "Alright. It is great," and she went back. She was so happy and thought, "I can do that." She mixed that medicine with water and gave it to her mother-in-law to drink. She said medicine was an energy drink, so her mother-in-law drank it. From that onwards, the daughter-in-law treated her mother by marriage nicely, and she did everything she liked. She did things sulkily before, but now she did her mother-in-law with her body and soul. She worked happily every day for her husband's mother. She continued her method for two-three days, and it reached two years, but she kept giving her drink. At that time, she felt regret. She was so regretful of what she had done. She was really regretful and felt, "Oh dear, I should better not do this to my mother-in-law. It should be alright not doing this. My mother-in-law is going to die. What should I do now?" "What should I do to solve it?" she was worried and thought. "What should I do to correct it?" She did not know what to do, so she went back to the drug store. She told the shopkeeper, "I wanted to kill a person before, so I took medicine, but now I don't want to kill her anymore." "Now that person is going to die." "I really don't want her to pass away, so what should I do about that?" she asked the owner. The shopkeeper said, "We are selling the medicine to save people, not to kill people. Why am I supposed to sell medicine for killing people to you?" "That medicine is an energy drug," the owner explained to the daughter-in-law. "Due to your deed, whatever you do, don't do it with your bad mind." "Do it with your love and care so that all the good things will appear for you." The shop owner described her patiently. From that day onwards, she led and looked after her family well and became a pure daughter-in-law in her household.
