Title Hpa n galaw shi yang shawng myit yu ga (Why it is important to think before you act) with English translation
Description Translation (Htoi San)
The title is 'Think before you do.' Once upon a time, a family lived in a big village. A father, a child, and a mother were in their family. Their child's name was 'Brang Awng.' Both father and mother loved their son very much. They took care of him a lot. The parents were wealthy and raised their son well since he was young. Mother always told her son from a young age, "My son, you are going to become a doctor and cure people." The child was also brilliant, as his mother said, and he was clever in his studies too. He was among the best in his class and got top positions yearly. He passed high school with flying colors as he was bright and talented. His marks were high, and he reached the medical university. Mother was so pleased, "That's right. My son is so clever," and she let her son go to medical university. She did not ask anything of her son and sent him to attend the medical university. Her son obeyed her, and he went there without any complaints. To become a doctor, he needed to attend university for seven years. The first year had passed, and he did well. When he was in his second year and passed it, the boy did not show up to his school in the third year. He stayed at home and played games all the time. He did not talk to anyone and only played his games. He spent his life in his home for about four years, five years, six years, and seven years. He did not finish school, so he did not become a doctor. Mother thought about his son, "What is wrong with my son? He went to school for two years and finished the second year happily. He also passed that level." "What's wrong in his third year?" Mother was so sad about this. At that time, a cousin sister of 'Brang Awng' said to his mother, "Aunt, did you ask your son when he passed high school?" "Did you ask him what he wanted to be?" Mother thought deeply about it. "Yeah, I did not question him. I had not asked. I told him to be a doctor since he was young," Mother insisted. The girl responded to her aunt, "Aunt, you are so wrong. You did not demand him what he wanted to be. Not even once." "My little brother wanted to build houses. He wanted to attend the school for construction in his heart." "He wanted to go to the Institute of Technology and desired to become an Engineer. But Aunt, you want him to be a doctor. Therefore, he is not interested in a doctor's job." "He does not wish for a doctor, so he becomes like this." The girl explained to her aunt. "If you sent him to the Institute of Technology, 'Brang Awng' could be an excellent person all over the world." "We could not say that." The girl told her aunt. Mother considered her niece's saying, "Yes, it is right." "I did not ask my son what his desire was before." "I did not question him what he wanted to be and what his thoughts were." Mother regretted it, but it was a late regret. Her son never became a doctor and lived his life like nothing.
