Description Miscellaneous tapes recorded by Stuart Kirsch which conducting research with the Yonggom people of Western Province, Papua New Guinea, 1986-1989. This collection was located as a result of PARADISEC's 'Lost and Found' project and digitisation was funded by the ARC Centre of Excellence for the Dynamics of Language.

Data access narrative Tapes from male initiation ceremonies (yawat) should only be made accessible to: (1) individuals who agree not to circulate these materials or transcriptions of them, or to (2) Yonggom men who have completed initiation rituals. However, they may be described in general terms, as descriptions of the ritual have already been published (Kirsch 2006) with community permission.
