Title N Kaja Ai Hpe Kaja Ai Hte Dang Ai Lam | Overcoming Evil with Good
Description Translation (Htoi San & Keita Kurabe)
This story is about "Overcoming Evil with Good." Once upon a time, there were two neighboring families. One family was poor, while the other was wealthy. The wealthy family often threw garbage into the poor family's yard. The poor family's son became angry at the sight of the garbage being dumped and complained to his father. The father told his son there was no need to be angry. Instead, he gathered and burned the garbage. He used the ashes as fertilizer and planted three gourd seeds in that spot. The gourds grew well, and bore many fruits. Many gourd sprouts grew as well. The family was able to sell the abundant gourds. Not only did they prosper, but they also took these beautiful gourds and sprouts to the wealthy neighbor who had dumped the garbage. They said, "These gourds were harvested from the land" "fertilized by the garbage you threw." "Please enjoy them." The wealthy family was deeply ashamed and changed their behavior. Thus, in this world, even when people act poorly, you can triumph over bad deeds by responding with kindness.
