I am going to tell you about the story of a man who let Nang Bya tell a lie. Once upon a time, there was a man. He had heard many times that Nang Bya lied to many people. But the man had not been lied to by Nang Bya. He was curious to see if Nang Bya could deceive him. He thought, "Okay, I'll meet Nang Bya." "Let's see if he can lie to me." "I won't be fooled by Nag Bya." He thought like that. Just then, he saw Nang Bya passing by carrying a bundle of bamboo. Then he said to Nang Bya, "You are Nang Bya, aren't you? Nang Bya said, "Yes, I am." "I am Nang Bya." The man said, "Brother Nang Bya, try to lie to me." "I hear you are famous for deceiving people." "So let me see you lie to me." Then Nang Bya said, "Yes, I would like to lie to you." "But I have left at home the bottle that I use to tell lies." Nang Bya held up the bundle of bamboo vertically. He said to the man, "Excuse me, sir, but this bamboo bundle is likely to fall over when the wind blows." "So please hold it up." "I will bring the bottle to lie." Nang Bya let the man hold up the bamboo bundle and went away. When Nang Bya said this, the man thought, "I will keep an eye on Nang Bya." "How will he lie to me?" Nang Bya asked him to do so. Then, no matter how long the man waited, he did not come back. All day long, even at sunset, he did not come back. The man waited in amazement. Nang Bya did not come back. The man was so tired of waiting. He got angry. He threw away the bundle of bamboo and went to look for Nang Bya. He went to look for Nang Bya. He went upstream. He said, "Let Nang Bya lie to me." "It has been a whole day since he told me he would lie to me." "He told me he would go and get the bottle to tell a lie." The man got angry. He went upstream to look for him. When he went upstream, he found as if nothing had happened, Nang Bya was eating dried corn. He was just drinking tea by the fire.
