Title Kaja ai amu galaw ra (The Generous Boy and the Greedy Man) with English translation
Description Translation (Rita Seng Mai)
Once upon a time, there was a rich man in a village. Although he was rich, he was stingy. At his house, he had a boy whom he raised. The boy was well-behaved. He cared for his friends and spent his life happily. One day, some people came to the rich man's house to ask for help. The wealthy man said to the boy, "Tell them that I am not at home." The boy said, "The house owner is not at home. What can I help you?" They said, "We are here to ask for help." He said, "I will give you what I have." He gave them money and a few pieces of gold he had. And he treated them to some meals. The rich man told him, "You fed them a meal. As you have treated them to some food, you don't eat anything. Don't eat any food this morning. Just work! Don't eat anything!" He blamed the boy and punished him without feeding any food. The boy said, "Okay. I won't die just because I miss one meal. Helping others is a good thing to do. It's okay even if I die." He said that to the rich man. The rich man got angry at him and went out of the house. At that time, he got pricked by a thorn. The wound became swollen and started to pus. He had to stay in bed due to his wound. Eventually, he died because of it. After he died, he had to go to hell. When he was alive, he didn't help anyone. He only cared for him and didn't help anybody. So, he had no choice, but to go to hell. All the money he had left became the boy's money. Then, the boy became rich. When he became rich, he helped every neighbour or relative who asked for help. He only did good things. When he became older, he died. He was destined to be in Heaven. When he was alive, he did only good things. He helped everyone with what he had. So, when he died, he went to Heaven.
