Title Gwi hte bai nam (The dog and the goat) with English translation
Description Translation (Rita Seng Mai)
A long time ago, a dog and a goat were best friends. They never fought. They always played together. In the past, people pounded sticky rice or other food in the mortar. One day, people pounded sesame seeds in the mortar. They just put the pestle beside the mortar. They didn't cover the mortar too. Then, the goat started licking the sesame seeds inside the mortar. But it couldn't lick the seeds deep inside the mortar. It moved its neck left and right to lick the seeds. The dog had horns in the past. The dog took its horns off and started licking the mortar. The goat saw the dog and laughed at it. And the goat put the horns on its head. It forgot to take the horns off too. The dog was angry with the goat because it laughed at it. The dog got angry with the goat. It said, "How could you laugh at your friend? I hate you." Since then, the goat and the dog never see eye to eye with each other. They fight whenever they meet.
