Title Grai kyin ai num a lam (The very busy woman) with English translation
Description Translation (Rita Seng Mai)
The story I am going to tell you is about a busy woman. Once, in a village, there was a woman. She was always busy. She had so much work to do. She was always busy with her work. She was a hard-working person. She went to the market to buy food for herself. She bought some meat and vegetables for her. She had to use the train as a means of transport at that time. She went to the market by train. There was a beggar at the junction on the way. When she saw the beggar, she felt pity for him. She wanted to help him. But she thought, "If I help him now, I will miss the train for sure. I will just give him some money when I go back home this evening." And she took the train to go to the market. She went grocery shopping. When she went back home in the evening, she didn't see that beggar anymore. She searched for him everywhere, but she couldn't find him anywhere. In the end, she thought she should go back home and help him the next day. At night, she cooked dinner and ate it. After that, she went to bed. The next morning, she went there again. But the begger was not there. She thought, "He might be on the other side of the street." So she went there and looked for him. However, she couldn't find him. She was looking for him the whole day. Her time was spent just looking for the beggar. In fact, she was so busy. She just felt pity for him. So she was looking for him. No matter how hard she tried to find him, he was nowhere. So she thought to go back there again the next day. She looked for the beggar the next day, too. She regretted not helping him when she saw him. And she made up her mind to find him until she saw him. She felt unhappy. She thought, "I will search for him until I find him today. I will give him some money." And she desperately looked for him. But she still couldn't find him. She got angry at herself and just went back home. The next day, she went to find the beggar again. But this time, she saw the beggar sitting on the street. She saw him sitting down near the railway. Coincidentally, the train passed at that time. The train was a bit long and took some time. So she missed the begger again. She didn't see where he went. She felt frustrated, "That train! I lost him again!" The next day, she went there again to look for the begger. At that time, she got a phone call. Someone said on the phone, "My friend, there is a praying ceremony at my house. Come to us." She replied, "I am busy at the moment." The caller insisted on inviting her, "Spare your time and come to our house, my friend." In the end, she decided to go there. She couldn't help the beggar yet and had to go back. She went to her friend's house, where there was a prayer meeting. She regretted and felt really unhappy, "I should have helped him when I saw him. It was all because I was so busy." She regretted. She comforted herself, "What if I don't see him and can't help him because I go to the prayer meeting? What if that beggar is not a human? Then it's just wasting my time." Later, she was just busy with her work. But one day, it happened to be like that beggar asking for some money at her house. It was really that begger whom she was looking for. She told him, "I would like to help you. I will take care of you because I feel pity." The begger accepted her offer and stayed at her house. The begger lived there, and they had been working hard together every day.
