Title Num sha masum a lam (The three girls) with English translation
Description Translation (Rita Seng Mai)
The story is about three girls. A long time ago, there was a family with three little girls. The family was a middle-class family. They were a happy family. One day, the parents called their three daughters and said, "Come and sit near us." They asked them, "How could you live this peacefully without any worries? Because of who?" The eldest daughter said, "It's all because of you, Mom and Dad." Then, they asked the second daughter, "Because of whom could you live like this?" She answered, "It's all because you really work hard for us." Then, the parents asked the youngest daughter the same question. They asked her, "Our youngest daughter, why can we live without any worries? Because of whom?" She immediately replied, "It's because of me." Her parents were angry when they heard her answer. They said, "Your sisters said that we could live like this because it was all because of us! How could the youngest, like you, say that it was because of you? You are so mean! If you still think that it's all because of you, get out of our house!" They drove her out of the house. The father gave her a horse and let her sit facing backward. He said, "Go now. You have to stay where this horse stops!" The youngest daughter set forth with her horse. Many months after she got out of her house, both her parents and sisters didn't know what had happened to her. The father told her, "Your home will be the place where this horse stops." She rode the horse and reached a pleasant palace. The horse stopped there. She looked around the place, but she didn't see anybody there. However, she decided to live there. A prince from the palace saw her and fell for her beauty. So he got married to her. She spent her life happily with the prince for many years. She lived her life without worries. She could live wealthily and happily. Her husband ascended the throne too. She didn't want to know what was happening to her parents. She didn't even ask about them. She always kept the fact that her parents sent her away from the house. She couldn't forget about it. One day, she told her husband, "My lord, let's invite everyone from our country and that country to eat a meal together." She wanted to invite people from her parents' country for a meal. The king agreed with her. Therefore, they celebrated a big event. They invited everyone, poor and rich. Many people came to the event and had a meal. The youngest daughter, the queen, invited her family for a meal too. She prepared a delicious meal. Then, her parents came there. The parents didn't know that their youngest daughter became the queen. They just came because they were invited. There were many delicious dishes on her parents' table, but salt was not added to the dishes. Her parents ate the dishes without any complaints, even though they tasted so bland. When they were about to finish their meal, their daughter came to them. She asked them, "How were the dishes?" They answered, "They were delicious, but they were so bland." Then, she asked them, "Do you remember me, Mom and Dad?" They looked at her closely and hugged her while crying. She told them, "I love you so much, Mom and Dad. I love you so much. When we don't add salt to the dish, it will be tasteless, no matter how good the ingredients are. Same like that, my love for you is too big. I wanted to tell you face-to-face, so I prepared a celebration and treated you to the dishes." They didn't listen to their daughter in the past, and misunderstood her. They apologized to her and forgave each other. And they lived happily forever. This is the end.
