The speaker gives an account of the past Bodo history and culture. He says that one weakness of this community is the lack of language culture. They were once spread widely up to Bihar and Bangladesh. This fact can be established from the river names which are mostly of Bodo origin. Thakhwmtha, a Bodo king once ruled in Sonari near Sibsagar (Assam). Sukapha, an Ahom killed Thakhwmtha and established his kingdom. Then as a result of intermarriage and probably under pressure most of the Bodo people living in those places have converted to other cultures and hence lost the language. This weakness still continues and as a result the number is diminishing slowly. It is encouraging to see that some young people have come forward to work for language development. Duration 00.09.00.
