Collection title Shubo Li Nakanamanga materials
Description Nakanamanga (IS639-3:llp, Glottolog:nort2836), also known as Nguna, Ngunese, or North Efate, is an Oceanic language spoken by approximately 10,000 people in the Shefa Province, Vanuatu. The items were collected during various fieldtrips since 2023, as part of Shubo's PhD project, the phonetics and phonology of Nakanamanga. The collection includes two Nakanamanga varieties (Tongoa and Nguna) recorded at different locations (Shepherd Islands and Efate), as shown in the square brackets for each item, e.g., [Tongoa@Manples] suggests that the item belongs to the Tongoa variety and it was recorded at Manples, Port Vila.
This collection is dedicated to the Nakanamanga speakers of Vanuatu. Shubo (Leitong) is a proud adopted daughter of Chief Taripoamata of Tongoa and his wife Martha.
