A long time ago, there was an orphaned boy who was very poor so he worked for a paddy field in a rich man. The rich man also called a lot of other people to do hireling in his paddy field. But, the rich man only hired those who did not good at work for only one year and did not call again for next year. But, the orphaned and poor boy was very good at work. He worked blamelessly at his work and was also very honest so the rich man called the orphaned boy every year to do hireling in his paddy field. And so, one day, the orphaned boy finished his work in the paddy field and took a rest and was sitting to have a meal. When the orphaned boy was sitting, he saw a beggar. The beggar came to him and asked for food. "Boy, I am very hungry. That's why I came to you to ask for food," said the old beggar. Then, the poor boy said to the beggar that "Hi old man, I only cooked for myself. If I give you, there will be no more food left for me." The beggar begged so much that "No, I am very hungry. So, please give me the food." So, the poor boy gave the food to the beggar. When the beggar was eating the food, the rich man arrived and saw it. The rich man saw and got very angry. "I gave the food for you to eat. Why did you give others to eat? If you do so, I won't give you the food any more," the rich man said angrily to the poor boy. Then, the rich man left. After the rich man left, the beggar said to the poor boy that "Because you gave me the food, your paddy field owner got very angry with you. I will give a present to you." Then, the beggar gave a big package. "No, you don't need to give me," said the poor boy. But, the beggar said that "No, let me give you because your owner got very angry with you. You were even rebuked because of me," and he gave the package. After the beggar left, the poor boy opened the package and it was packed with many layers. So, he took off one layer by one layer, and finally, he found that there was a very beautiful and green jade inside of the package after he took off all the layers. Because the jade was very bright and beautiful, the poor boy thought to himself that "I got this jade as I am staying here because I work for my boss. I should not take it. I should give it to my paddy field's owner." So, the poor boy gave the jade to the paddy field's owner. When the boy gave it, the paddy field's owner also thought to himself that "I am only a rich man of this village. Since there is a governor of this state, I should just give it to the governor." And, the rich man gave the jade to the governor. When the governor opened it, it was only a normal stone Thus, the governor got angry with the rich man that "You came here to lie me. My men, tie and beat him. Drive him out to the outside of the city and kill him. He came to lie to me." The rich man did not tell before that the jade was given by the poor boy and he just did as he gave to the governor. But, when he was almost killed because it became a normal stone, he said that "Dear governor, it is not that I give you. It was given by the orphaned boy who is working in my paddy field." "So, call the orphaned boy," asked the governor so his men brought the orphaned boy. When the orphaned boy got to the governor and hold the jade, the jade was changed from the normal stone to a bright and beautiful jade even the whole compound of the governor was bright. Therefore, the governor awarded many things to the orphaned boy and let him stayed in the governor's house. The governor also shared some lands with the orphaned boy and lived together with the boy.
