Title N kaja ai hpang num (The bad stepmother) with English translation
Description Translation (Rita Seng Mai)
This story is about a bad stepmother. Her child was dead because of her. Many years ago in a village, a man remarried after his first wife died. The stepmother didn't like the first wife's child and bullied her. When the father bought her some beautiful clothes, the stepmother just took them away. The stepmother also told her husband to kill his first wife's child. The man said, "How do I kill her? They are always together." His wife told him, "I will let my child wear a black cloth and make your first wife's child wear a red cloth when they go to bed. Kill the child in the red cloth." The man didn't want to kill his child, but his wife kept threatening him to kill the child. Before the children went to bed, the second wife's child took the first wife's child's red cloth by force and wore it. The second wife's child gave her black cloth to the first wife's child. They changed their clothes and went to bed. The father was ordered to kill the child in the red cloth, so he killed that child. The next morning, the dead child was the second wife's child. Her child was dead because of her mean mindset.
