This album features popular songs from the Black Brothers, a significant musical group from Papua New Guinea and Irian Jaya, showcasing both traditional and contemporary melodies.

The original band was centered around Andy Ayamiseba, with key members including Hengky Sumanti Miratoneng (vocals, guitar), Benny Bettay (bass), August Rumwaropen (lead guitar, vocals), Stevy Mambor (vocals, drums), Yochi Patipeiluhu (keyboards), Willem Ayamiseba (percussion), David Rumagesang (saxophone), and Amri Kahar (trumpet) during the late 1980s.

The band went into voluntary exile in 1979 protesting Indonesian policies in West Papua, relocating to Vanuatu and later Papua New Guinea. This period likely influenced some lineup shifts due to geographical moves and political pressures.
