Telling fortune for a sick child, spoken by Chaw Sa Myat Chowlik, at Pawaimukh village.
The recording begins with the father of the child, an Adivasi from a nearby village, presenting a small gift of betel nut to Sa Myat. After the father explains the problem, Sa Myat uses a small slate to draw with chalk and reads from a book to interpret his drawings. The book is in multiple languages but was not photographed. It is possibly the book Lik Man Khiu Ma, which was photographed as and part of Sa Myat reading it was recorded as SDM03-20050301-012.wav
The original video was recorded on a Sony Digital Handycam TRV1 using a Hi8 video cassette that was numbered 2001.1 |
