Title Phonology discussion and minimal pairs
Description Dickson explains the pronunciation of very short vowels (these may just be realisations of consonant clusters). He gives pronunciations of the minimal pairs “stone”/”pain” (both close to “ti”), “I threw”/”I planted” (both close to “tita”), and “water”/”father” (both close to “ai”). He gives the pronunciations of some words containing a sound close to “i” and explains which of the two different phonemes it is in every case. The item contains a video where Dickson pronounces the pair “stone”/”pain” and another video where he pronounces the pair “I threw”/”I planted"
