What I'm about to tell is the story of "Nang Bya lying to the boy". Once upon a time, on a certain day, a boy met Nang Bya. When they met, the boy said to Nang Bya, "Uncle Nang Bya, you're famous for being a liar, aren't you?" "If you're good at lying," "show me a lie too." Saying so, he teased Nang Bya. Then, Nang Bya replied, "Alright!" "Of course!" Then, the boy said to Nang Bya, "If you say so," "let's have a lie-off." Nang Bya said, "Oh, I left the bottle I use when lying under the pillow in the room." "Please bring it first." "Once you bring it," "let's have a lie-off." He sent the boy to fetch the lying bottle. The boy believed what Nang Bya said, entered the room, and searched under the pillow. No matter how much he searched by feeling around, he couldn't find it. The old Kachin houses had no windows, so he searched in the dark. It was a room with no windows and only a door. When the boy entered the room, Nang Bya closed the door with a stick. He trapped the boy inside. The boy cried all day in the dark room. He stayed in the room crying. At night, when it got dark, the boy's family returned. "Why did you make the boy cry?" "Why did you lock him up all day?" they asked. Nang Bya said, "This boy wanted to play a lying game with me." "He said, 'Uncle, let's have a lie-off.'" "So I just lied and locked him up," he said.
