Title Hpu Lum Htu Hkan Shachyut Ai Lam | The Man Chased by the Hpu Lum Htu
Description Translation (Htoi San & Keita Kurabe)
The story I'm about to tell is "The Man Chased by the Hpu Lum Htu". Once upon a time, there was a household in a village. It was a house with many members. Many people lived there. The sons worked in agriculture with their father. One day, the sons went hunting in the forest with their father. When they reached a place in the forest, the father lost sight of his sons and got lost. He lost his way. The sons also lost sight of their father and searched for their invisible father. Even though they called out, "Father! Father!" they could not find him. Since they could not find him, they said, "Hmm, let's stop searching." "Not only can we not find father" "we might go deep into the forest." "Let's go home and wait for father's return." The sons went back home. Thus, the father got separated from his sons, and as he wandered in the forest, he encountered the Hpu Lum Htu. When he found it, he was surprised and ran away. The Hpu Lum Htu also found him. Upon finding him, it started chasing him. As it chased him, the father closed his eyes and ran away. As he ran away, he had to climb a hill. When climbing it, he ran up. When he found a hill and ran up to the top, the Hpu Lum Htu also chased him at an incredible speed. Carrying its long and large breasts on its shoulders, it chased the father. It was incredibly fast. When it chased him up the hill, it almost caught up with him. When it was about to catch up, the father this time ran down from the top of the hill. As he ran down the hill, the Hpu Lum Htu stepped on its large breasts that had fallen from its shoulders and could not chase the father easily. The father, in fear, ran down the hill at full speed, and when he found the cross-road into the village, he quickly ran into the village and returned home. When he arrived home, He told his family about how he got separated from his sons and encountered the Hpu Lum Htu. He told this to the people in his house, his sons and grandchildren. He shared his lesson. "If you ever encounter the Hpu Lum Htu in the mountains," "Never run up the mountain." "The Hpu Lum Htu is good at climbing mountains." "It's also very powerful." "However, the Hpu Lum Htu is not good at going down mountains." "Because it steps on its large breasts," "it finds it difficult to chase." He told about how he was chased by the Hpu Lum Htu like this. So, the people of old used to say that when chased by the Hpu Lum Htu, You should go down the mountain. They taught as in this story. Thank you.
