The story I am telling now is "Nambya plays the flute even when he is dead." When Nang Bya was still alive, he used to say to the villagers, "I can play the flute even when I'm dead." He bragged about it. So the villagers waited for Nang Bya to die. "Let's see if he can really play the flute when he is dead!" They waited for it. And so, after a while, Nang Bya was about to die. At that time, What did Nang Bya ask his family to do? "Catch some bees and put them in a bamboo tube." "Close it so they can't get out." "When I die, let me cross my legs." "Put my hands near my mouth like I'm playing the flute." "Put it in my mouth, too." "After that," "call the villagers." He asked his family to do so. Then, after a while, Nang Bya died. His family did as Nang Bya asked. They made him cross his legs. They made him hold a bamboo tube filled with bees like a flute. After that, they called the villagers. "Villagers, neighbors, come here!" "Our beloved father, Nang Bya, is dead!" They called the villagers. Many people came there not because they were sorrowful. Many people came to see if he could play the flute when he died, as Nang Bya had boasted. When people came, Nang Bya was lying as if he was playing the flute. And the bees in the bamboo tube were buzzing noisily. So the villagers said, "Oh, so it was true that Nang Bya could play the flute even when he was dead!" They were surprised.
