Title Marai masum myit hkrum yang panglai nawng htawk dang | The three people working together can empty a lake
Description Translation (Htoi Awng & Keita Kurabe)
The story I'm going to tell is "If three people work together, they can empty even a large lake." Once upon a time, there was a king. Near his palace was a lake as big as the sea. One day, the king said, "Whoever can bail water from this lake will have half of my wealth and half of my country." Hearing this, three men came. "We will do it." "We will bail out," they said. After accepting the offer, the three men came to the lake and talked with each other. One man said to the other two, "Now that we will bail the water from this lake" "shall we cook 30 baskets of rice and eat it?" The friends said, "Fine!" The man continued, "Shall we put 30 scales of salt in the dish as well?" The other two friends also said, "Great!" "Shall we put in 30 scales of chili?" The two friends also said, "That's good!" In this way, no matter what the man said, the two friends said, "All right! All right!" All the three men said was to join forces. Then, they went back home in the evening. After they went home, the dragon who lived in that lake got scared, hearing that the three men were going to join forces. So, it flew away from the lake that night. Since the dragon left the lake, the water in the lake ran dry that night. Since there was no water in the lake, the three men reported it to the king. Then, they got half of the king's wealth and half of the country. Hence the saying, "Three men working together can empty even a large lake."
