The story I am going to tell is about a dragon and a human girl. Long time ago, pumpkins grew in the fields on the banks of the Mali River. The pumpkin vines grew up to the river. A dragon always came to suck the blossoms of the pumpkins. To human eyes, the dragon looked like a human. The dragon saw a girl working in the field and fell in love with her. They always met when she went to the field. After some time, she was pregnant. Her parents asked her about it. "Who is the father?" they asked her many times. But she did not say anything. After the baby was born, her parents kept asking her that who the baby's father was. Finally, she said that "His father always goes into the river." "He always goes back into the river." Hearing this, they realized that it was the dragon's baby. When the son grew up, he often asked about his father. "Who is my dad?" His mother only answered, "You don't have a dad." "You are a son without a dad." "I got you when I was farming." "You don't have a dad." The son grew up. He grew up and insisted on asking about that. So, the mother told him, "Your dad lives in the river." Then, he went to the river to find his father because he really wanted to meet him. "I want to meet my dad." When he sat near the river, the dragon showed up in front of him. "Ah! It's you. You are my dad." He tried to catch the dragon, but he couldn't. Since then, he knew that the dragon was his father. "Mom! The dragon is my dad. I saw him." "You said he lives in the river, so I found him." "So I was born to a non-human?" "Mom, why did you make a dragon my dad?" "My son, I grew some pumpkins near the river in the past." "Your dad usually came to suck the flowers." "We met there and had you." Thus was born the son of the dragon. Our ancestors used to tell this story. The villagers of Tanghpre tell that this is a true story.
