I am telling the story about "The spirit boy and the human girl." A long time ago, there was a family consisting of a mother and a daughter only. They could not cultivate the rice fields like other people. So they lived by slash-and-burn agriculture. While they were living like that, one day, the daughter went out to cut the grass. While she was cutting the grass, a spirit boy came to play with her. Like that, the spirit boy and the girl became close friends. They became each other's closest friends and they helped and assisted each other when one was required. After that, they fell in love. They finished cutting most of the grass in the field. Because the spirit boy came and helped her. However, the neighbors, the humans, could not see the spirit boy. Only the girl could see him helping to clear the farm. When the grass is cut and the field is burnt the spirit boy asked the girl for a favor. What did he ask her to do? "My love, if you always want to get the connection with me" "Don't plant chili, ginger, and wild ginger in your field." That's what the spirit boy asked the girl. "You can plant all the rest." "But if you plant these three plants in your field" "you and I will not be able to live together forever." But when the field was ready, the daughter's mother planted chili, ginger, and wild ginger in the field. The mother, unaware of the spirit boy's request, planted them. So the girl and the spirit boy were separated from each other. That's why when we are done preparing the fields we humans always plant chili, ginger, and wild ginger first. Spirits do not like chili, ginger, and wild ginder, so if we plant them, they do not come to us. That's how the old people told. Thank you very much, everyone.
