Then the Jinghpaw people said, "We already buried him. We can't give him to you." The Chinese people thought of another plan and said, "That's okay. However, he is of royal chief blood. It's not right to just bury him like that. We will cover all the food costs and hold a grand ceremony for him." The Jinghpaw people agreed and held a ceremony that lasted seven days and seven nights. The Chinese people dug a very deep ditch around the tumulus, about as tall as a grown person. After that, they performed the death dance. They killed a large pig and exhumed the tomb. Our grandfather, the general, had already become a semi-divine being. He came back to life, just like a normal person. He almost stood up, but the Chinese people did that to kill him. They knew about it, so they did that. Our grandfather's tomb was right on the dragon. Our grandfather was buried on the wings of the dragon. If the Chinese people hadn't dug a ditch around the tomb, our grandfather would have become a dragon, flown to China, and fought many wars. Therefore, the Chinese people shouted, "We won the war! We defeated the Jinghpaw people! We have won!" Now, they call the Chinese New Year 'Gawnyen' and celebrate it by shooting fireworks. That is the day they defeat the Jinghpaw people.
