In the past, we didn't know how to thank God when we ate something delicious. We didn't have the habit of sharing with others when we had something good. One day, the bird species such as Nbyen Ti bird and Nnyeng Nyet bird (Nnyen Nyet is a blackbird. Both eat fruits.) were eating fruits. They called to each other to come and eat the fruits on the tree. The Nbyen Ti bird praised God before eating the fruits. The Nnyeng Nyet bird also made a pleasant sound to give thanks before eating the fruit. People witnessed the birds' actions. Then, people said to each other, "Even birds praise the Lord when they eat fruits. The Nbyen Ti bird and the Nnyeng Nyet bird are from different species, but they call to each other to come and eat fruits. And they praise the Lord." They saw the birds doing such actions. Since then, whenever people get vegetables such as cucumbers or corn, they call their neighbors and share them. We adopted that habit. During the time of animism, and even now in Christianity when we worship God, we have adopted that good habit from the past and praise the Lord. We celebrate Thanksgiving Day when we harvest new crops and grains to show our gratitude for the blessings. For example, when we get a valuable jade, we celebrate and express gratitude for the blessings. When we receive lots of money, we praise the Lord, too. This is how our elders tell us to do it.
