Ndai nye Kasha ni marai sanit kaw na Gara wa hpe mahtang ngai na Hkawhkam ndai wang, ngai na Hkawhkam aya jaw na kun? ngu na dai hku ngu myit ai da. Shaloi she, kaga Mungdan na dai Hkawhkam wa kaw gaw, Kasha grai... La ni hpe ngu grai n yu ra ai. La ma n chye ra re ai, Hkawhkam Shayi sha langai lu ai da. Dai hpe she, dai Kawa wa myit dum dat ai da. E.. Hpa mi nga nga i. Tsun sai da shan nau ni marai sanit hpe shaga la na. "Aw-ra Mungdan na i, Hkawhkam Shayi sha hpe e tsun ga nga yang, lu sa hkalem lu ai i. Tinang hpe ra hkra chye galaw ai wa hpe gaw, nye na Hkawhkam Wang ma, Hkawhkam shara ma jaw na, dai Num hpe ma hkung ran ya na." ngu dai hku tsun ai da. Dai shaloi she, shan nau ni sa mat wa sai da. Dai Hkawhkam Wang de sa mat wa shaloi she. Dai Gam ngu na wa shawng tsun ai da. "E... nye kasha, i na Kasha hte ngai hte hkrum shangun rit." ngu dai hku tsun ai she, dai Dingla wa gaw hkrum shangun ai da. Kasha wa gaw tsun ai, "E ngai n kam hkrum ai." hpa law ngya law ngu dai hku ngu tsun ai da. Dai shaloi she, "E mu shangun rit." ngu tsun ai, n hkrum ai da. Dai Hkawhkam Shayi sha gaw "N kam hkrum ai." ngu dai hku ngu tsun ai da. Rai jang, Ma Gam wa bai rai mat wa sai da. Ma Naw wa bai tsun ai da. Ma Naw wa tsun tim mung ,"N kam hkrum ai" ngu tsun ai da. Dai shaloi she, "E Hkawmhkam wa e, hkring sha pyi nye nsen sha tim pyi na shangun rit." ngu tsun na she, tsun ai da. Shaloi she, "E Hkawhkam Shayisha e ngai hte jahkring sha pyi shaga hkrum yu ga." ngu tsun ai da. Shaga dat ai wa she, ndai Hkawhkam Shayi sha wa shi na nsen na ai hte wa she, grai mu mayu wa ai da. Nsen wa grai matsan dum nan nga shaga taw ai majaw, shi sa yu ai da. Sa yu ai shaloi, myiman hpe bai yu dat yang she, myiman mung bai mu mayu, dai hku mu nna bai wa mat sai da. Wa mat ai shaloi she Hkawhkam Shayi sha wa tsun ai da. "E Ah Wa e, shi hpe gaw, ngai bai mu mayu wa ai. Dai majaw i, ngai shi hpe, shi na nsen hpe mung grai matsan dum ai. Dai majaw, ngai shi hte ngai hpe hkungran na ahkang jaw rit." ngu dai hku ngu tsun ai da. Dai shaloi Kawa wa tsun dan sai da. Ngai hpe hkungran na ahkang jaw rit ngu tsun ai majaw, shi gaw, e.. dai majaw Kawa gaw sa tsun sai da. "Na na Kasha i, nye Kasha gaw, dai hpung dim wa hpe e ra ai nga tsun ai majaw, shan hpe hkungran na ahkang jaw rit." ngu tsun na she. Dai shan nau ni masum hpe shaga la sai, sanit hpe shaga la ai da. "E nye Kasha hpung dim wa gaw, dai hku sa lu tsun sai majaw i, nang gaw ngai na Hkawhkam Wang i, Hkawhkam Shara, Hkawhkam hkaw kaw ma nang lu dung ai i, nang Hkawhkam galai mat sanu." ngu dai hku ngu tsun nna. Collection title Kachin folktales told in Jinghpaw
Description Recordings of Kachin folktales and related narratives in Jinghpaw. These materials were collected by Keita Kurabe, Gumtung Lu Awng, Sumdu Ja Seng Roi, Hpauhkum Htu Bu, Labang Tu La, Gumtung Htu Nan, and Lashi Seng Nan as part of community-based collaborative fieldwork in northern Myanmar. A total of 2,491 stories with 2,481 ELAN files, 2,481 transcriptions, and 1,437 translations are currently available (November 23, 2024). Transcriptions were contributed by Gumtung Lu Awng, Pausa La Ring, Galang Lu Hkawng, Sumdu Ja Seng Roi, Hpauhkum Htu Bu, and Keita Kurabe. Stories were translated by Nbanpa Rita Seng Mai, Sumlut Gun Mai, Lazing Htoi San, Maran Seng Pan, Dumdaw Mike Tu Awng, Nhkum Htoi Awng, and Keita Kurabe.
