Title Bum krin bum hte bum hpye bum (Mt. Bum Krin and Mt Bum Hpye) with English translation
Description Translation (Rita Seng Mai)
The story I am going to tell now is 'Bum Krin Bum' and 'Bum Hpye Bum'. (Bum Krin Bum is a bare mountain, and Bum Hpye Bum is a partially forested mountain.) Once upon a time, humans started farming near Bum Krin Bum. One of the men's eldest daughters was taken by the nat from Bum Krin Bum. The girl's father was worried and cried. He cursed the mountain by calling upon the thunder deity. The thunder struck Bum Krin Bum fiercely. The mountain became bare because of it. The nearby mountain came to help Bum Krin Bum. However, some parts of it were also burned. Bum Krin Bum, the bare mountain, has not grown any trees to this day.
