Eddie Gim (eg) tellls the traditional story of Manub and Kubol. This is a story that, traditionally, only men can tell and know the details of. It was told to me one-on-one, and others were actively discouraged from over-hearing or observing. It is the story of two brothers and their differences. The story has a connection to traditional spiritual beliefs, but the details of that are not something Gim was comfortable recording. At one point in the story, Gim refers to the age of the brothers being like his son, Rodger. Later Rodger is visible in the video bringing his father something to drink and then leaving. Gim also points to cardinal directions during the story, which I later confirmed using a compas. |
