A recording in which Mr Wang¹kham² Wang¹su² plays the jaw harp. The recording begins with a brief explanation by Mr Wangsu. He explained that the first harp was the one played by men (wẽ¹pong²) and the second the one played by ladies, which is called daqwẽ¹. He said they are played for enjoyment. The word daq refers to a particular kind of bamboo. The performance of the wẽ¹pong² commences at 1'33" and finishes of 4'11". Jatwang mentioned that in Chopnu village, in Lower Wancho, boys play the bamboo harp for their girlfriends, and the girl can recognize who is playing what.
