Title Hkam hkam u hte u hka a lam | The Hkam Hkam bird and the crow
Description Translation (Htoi San & Keita Kurabe)
Here is the story about "The Hkam Hkam bird and the crow". A long time ago, the Hkam Hkam bird and the crow were very close friends. They both wanted to be beautiful. So, one day, they painted each other. The Hkam Hkam bird said, "Sister, please paint me first." The crow also said, "Sister, please paint me first," and they argued. The Hkam Hkam bird said again, "Sister, please paint me first," so the crow painted her first. The crow colored the Hkam Hkam bird very nicely. To make a beautiful pattern, the crow painted her various colors: white, black, and green. When the painting was finished, it was the turn of the Hkam Hkam bird to paint the crow. But the Hkam Hkam bird was so lazy. So, the Hkam Hkam bird showered the crow with paint all at once. The Hkam Hkam bird didn't want to paint the crow, so she doused her with the black paint. That's why the crow is black today. The Hkam Hkam bird is afraid of the crow, so she doesn't come out in the daytime. She became a bird looking for food at night.
