Shan grai.. gap nna she kanau wa gaw masha hpe hkrai jaw, masha hpe hkrai.. shan gam jaw shan gam jaw rai nna she lani mi na nhtoi gaw "E ngai dai daram jaugawng galaw nna shan gam jaw ai masha ngai hpe n-gaw nja ai kadai nga na kun" nga nna she shi gaw lani mi gaw hkan gap nna she hkan pu hpren rai na lam lawu de yawn rai na taw ai nga ai hku nga. Rai yang gaw mare masha ni shi shan jaw ai ni gaw yawng.. gaw "Koi.. jaugawng wa ndai kaw si taw sai gaw, jaugawng wa dai kaw si taw sai gaw" nga na yawng... lai mat ai da. Raitim shi a kahpu lai wa yang gaw "E.. nye kanau hpabaw byin sai i.. " ngu nna kahpu gaw dai hku rai na pawn la ai da. Dai majaw kahpu gaw kahpu, kanau gaw kanau n-gaw nja myit rawng ai. "Masha gaw masha masha" nga ai hku re moi na salang ni.

Collection title Kachin folktales told in Jinghpaw
Description Recordings of Kachin folktales and related narratives in Jinghpaw. These materials were collected by Keita Kurabe, Gumtung Lu Awng, Sumdu Ja Seng Roi, Hpauhkum Htu Bu, Labang Tu La, Gumtung Htu Nan, and Lashi Seng Nan as part of community-based collaborative fieldwork in northern Myanmar. A total of 2,491 stories with 2,481 ELAN files, 2,481 transcriptions, and 1,369 translations are currently available (March 25, 2024). Transcriptions were contributed by Gumtung Lu Awng, Pausa La Ring, Galang Lu Hkawng, Sumdu Ja Seng Roi, Hpauhkum Htu Bu, and Keita Kurabe. Stories were translated by Nbanpa Rita Seng Mai, Sumlut Gun Mai, Lazing Htoi San, Maran Seng Pan, Dumdaw Mike Tu Awng, Nhkum Htoi Awng, and Keita Kurabe.
