Title Baw nu kaja ai brangtai (Smart rabbit) with English translation
Description Translation (Rita Seng Mai)
It is about a smart rabbit. One fine day, a rabbit went into the forest to find his food. On his way, there was a bear. The rabbit was very scared when he saw the bear. And a tiger came there also. "Although I could deceive the bear to escape from him, I couldn't escape from the tiger. There is no way! What should I do? How should I do?" the rabbit thought to himself. While he was looking at the tiger and the bear, the fig fruits were suddenly fallen down on the ground. Then, the rabbit shouted, "The earth has fallen!" Every animal ran away to the direction where they faced. The tiger and the bear ran away too. Then, the rabbit was free from danger. "Thanks God. I was depressed and didn't know what to do. I escape now. The timing was perfect with when the fig fruits fell," the rabbit thought to himself. He was very happy because he could escape successfully.

Hkawm sa wa yang wa she tsap nga nga la nna she hkrit nna naw mau nga yang she sharawn bai da sharaw bai sa wa reng gaw shi gaw "Kaning nga tim awra sharaw tsap bai lu masu tim aw ra tsap hpe mi dang tim awra sharaw hpe gaw ngai lu dang sha na n re kaning wa di na i, kaning wa ngu na i"nga nna myit taw nga yang she shanhte masum dai awra manang yawn hpe yu nga yang lagum si di hkrat wa ai da "Buk" nga di hkrat wa "dai lu lamu shagrim htim sai lu" ngu nna she shing ngu tsun kau da nna she kagat mat wa kadai mung kadai man yawng ai de kagat mat wa nna she sharaw da tsap da kagat mat wa nna she shi mung dai yawn kaw na lawt nna "Haaa tsam mari sha ngai pyi myitru nga ngu yang she lagum si di hkrat wa hte hkrak re mat wa sa" ngu nna lawt lu sai ngu nna kabu ai da.

Collection title Kachin folktales told in Jinghpaw
Description Recordings of Kachin folktales and related narratives in Jinghpaw. These materials were collected by Keita Kurabe, Gumtung Lu Awng, Sumdu Ja Seng Roi, Hpauhkum Htu Bu, Labang Tu La, Gumtung Htu Nan, and Lashi Seng Nan as part of community-based collaborative fieldwork in northern Myanmar. A total of 2,491 stories with 2,481 ELAN files, 2,481 transcriptions, and 1,369 translations are currently available (March 25, 2024). Transcriptions were contributed by Gumtung Lu Awng, Pausa La Ring, Galang Lu Hkawng, Sumdu Ja Seng Roi, Hpauhkum Htu Bu, and Keita Kurabe. Stories were translated by Nbanpa Rita Seng Mai, Sumlut Gun Mai, Lazing Htoi San, Maran Seng Pan, Dumdaw Mike Tu Awng, Nhkum Htoi Awng, and Keita Kurabe.
