Title Ga law hkat ai lam (Quarrelling over the situation which is not even happening) with English translation
Description Translation (Rita Seng Mai)
The title of the story is 'quarrelling over the situation which is not even happening." They were poor. The husband told his wife, "We should do some business to be wealthy." His wife asked him, "What shall we do then?" He said, "We can't be wealthy just by farming. Let's say we will sell goods. But we don't have enough money to invest as well." She asked, "So, what shall we do?" He said energetically, "Let's take a lottery ticket! If we win the lottery, we will be rich." She agreed with him. They dreamt of a life after winning the lottery. The wife said, "If we won the lottery, let's travel around the country." The husband said, "No. I'll buy a race-horse. Then, I can let my horse compete in a competition. If he wins, I will get a lot of money." The wife insisted on travelling around the country, and her husband also insisted on buying a race-horse. They argued over their dreams. In the end, they ended quarrelling and fighting. The neighbours had to stop them. They said, "Why are you fighting?" The husband said, "I said I would buy a horse if I won a lottery." The wife also said, "I said I would travel around the country if I won the lottery." Then, they neighbours said, "Did you take a lottery ticket?" The couple answered, "Not yet. But we are talking about the situation after we won the lottery." The neighbours were surprised and said, "Oh my god! You two are fighting over the situation which is not even real."
